Course Description
The course introduces students to the fundamentals of Hydraulics and flow of water in closed conduits. The concepts of design of water pipe networks are discussed including determination of reservoir capacities.
Course Objectives:
This course will equip graduates with improved skills to:
a) Exhibit ability to carry out a hydraulic design of a water supply network.
b) Appreciate the principles of determining capacities of reservoirs for water storage.
c) Determine the pumping requirements for water transportation.
Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this course, the student will be able to effectively:
a) Be able to determine water demand and supply.
Be able to use at least one computer aided design and simulation program for water pipe diameter determination.
